Module Length: 1 Credit Hour
Approved for CEUs by: Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Jersey, Tennessee, South Dakota

IP-based Video Surveillance Systems have taken video security to an advanced level.

Video surveillance was originally used primarily to monitor warehouses, workplaces and highly-sensitive security areas.

The advances in video system technology have resulted in an increased use of video security implementations. High-definition cameras and digital recording devices are now used to record areas outside the physical workplace.

As a result, it is critical that you understand the legal issues that have been raised related to video surveillance recordings.

After completing this course, you should be able to:
  • Understand some of the major rules and regulations regarding the use of Video Surveillance Systems.
  • Discuss key strategies to use to protect and preserve the integrity of video files presented in court proceedings.
  • Describe how privacy laws and regulations affect the methodology used when setting up and configuring a Video Surveillance System.
