Installations which are not in compliance with the numerous Codes and Standards that apply could result in serious legal liabilities if a faulty installation is responsible for a fire or injury to building inhabitants.

This course focuses on some of the Codes and Standards which are key to a safe and viable installation.

When you complete this course, you should be able to do the following:
  • Identify the basic elements contained in the National Electrical Code and the National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code.
  • Define key terms used in National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) life safety documents.
  • Understand the difference between Codes and Standards and how they work together to ensure safe environments.
  • Navigate through Code chapters, articles, and notes.
